    Hello everyone.

    CoDe has added some more specific sub-codes under point 22 and 23

    22 Psychiatric disease (other causes)
    22.1 Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of psychoactive substances (other than alcohol and intravenous opioids)
    22.2 Schizophrenia, schizotypal and delusional Disorders
    22.3 Mood /Affective disorders (Major depressive disorder, Bipolar disorder and other mood disorders)
    22.4 Neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders (including anxiety disorders, phobias, OCD, stress reaction, dissociative disorders, somatoform disorders)
    22.5 Behavioral syndromes associated with physiological disturbances and physical factors (including eating disorders, sleep disorders, sexual disorders)
    22.90 Other psychiatric disorders

    23 CNS disease (other causes)
    23.1 Movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease; dystonias and Parkinson-like syndromes)
    23.2 Degenerative disorders of the central nervous system (Alzheimer's disease; Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease and other degenerative diseases of nervous system)
    23.3 Demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system (Multiple sclerosis, other demyelinating diseases)
    23.4 Epilepsy (including localised and generalized epilepsy and epileptic syndromes)
    23.5 Polyneuropathies (Guillain–Barré syndrome and other polyneuropathies/disorders of the peripheral nervous system)
    23.6 Diseases of myoneural junction and muscle (Miastenia gravis and other myoneural disorders)
    23.90 Other disorders of the nervous system

    Can we please add these to HICDEP 1.8 for consistency?
    Best Regards, Rikke S. Brandt on behalf of the DAD/CoDe group

    Hello Rikke

    Has this been officially released? I have checked the web site and only found an old protocol file there:

    http://www.cphiv.dk/Tools...dards/CoDe/Documents

    As soon as its officially released I will integrate it into HICDEP 1.8.

    Best regards, Jens

    I have inserted the new values in the CodingTable of HICDEP 1.8.

    Another thing: I have noticed that in tblLTFU the fields DEATH_R# and DEATH_RC# can occur multiple times. This is not a very nice solution. An additinal table to list the individual codes would be nicer. Any comments about this?

    Best regards, Jens

    Thank you for adding the table to HICDEP 1.8

    Are you proposing splitting out the DEATHS in a normalised table of its own?

    As a datamanager/"relational database person" I completely understand that suggestion. I have considered it myself.

    However in relation to CoDe we always request at least 5 death-codes. One "immediate", one "underlying" and up to 3 "contributing". All this information is relevant to one death INSTANCE. So you could argue that they all are part of the same data-entity and thus should be kept as is, since just one of the codes is not sufficient informaton to adequately code a death according to the CoDe schema.

    Having one row as a complete record in a table also makes it less likely that a programming error when analysing the deaths accidentally misses out one of the death reasons.

    best Regards, Rikke

    Yes i meant splitting the table.

    Im not sure I understand correctly what you said. So you allow up to 5 death codes (DEATH_R# and DEATH_RC# field pairs), but require at lest 2? Or you request at least 5 codes? An arbitrary number of fields may lead to problems when analyzing the data programmatically.

    But if the table as is has not lead to any problems yet I dont see a need to change it.

    Best regards,

    Jens

    I have received some feedback relating to Hepatitis related deaths, that are NOT HBC/HCV related from University-Professor Dr. Robert Zangerle from AMACS he wants us to consider adding the codes:

    03.3 = Hepatitis-related, non-specified (or else)
    03.3.1 = Hepatitis-related with cirrhosis
    03.3.2 = Hepatitis-related with liver failure
    03.3.3 = Hepatitis-related with liver cancer

    Best Wishes, Rikke (as the COHERE DM in this case)

    Or even

    03.3 = Viral Hepatitis-related, non-specified (or else)
    03.3.1 = Viral Hepatitis-related with cirrhosis
    03.3.2 = Viral Hepatitis-related with liver failure
    03.3.3 = Viral Hepatitis-related with liver cancer

    to indicate we are talking about viral hepatitis types

    I made a mistake..

    Professor Zangerle is from AHIVCOS - not AMACS - sorry.
