At the HICDEP version 1.60 it is described that the tblMED holds type, date , value and unit for other HIV related medicines. I think we should change this into next version into tblMED holds type, date, value and unit for medication/treatment.

Moreover I would like to introduce a variable (e.g MED_CAT) to define a category of medication/treatment e.g. HIV, HBV and HCV.

I would also suggest to introduce a similar variable in the tblART to define a category of medication/treatment(e.g. ART_CAT) as in this table you will find antiretroviral drug used in the treatment of HIV infection and antiretroviral drug used for the treatment for hepatitis B and C infection. I have the impression that not all users do understand that this table is not exclusively meant for recording the antiretroviral drugs used in the treatment of HIV infection.

    I agree with this suggestion.

I am unsure if it is good to introduce a category. My sense is that the category is intrinsic in the ATC-coding hierachi. I could be wrong - I am meerely pondering if this would in fact be providing the same information twice.

Perhaps the note that you should include ART AND Hepatitis drugs could be highlighted instead??
